OTTAWA - It has been said that defence wins championships, but one must first make the playoffs before that can happen.

The Ottawa Senators, who beat the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets 4-0 on Sunday, are one win away from qualifying for the NHL playoffs for the first time since 2017. The way they have played their last three games, the defence appears ready for the post-season challenge.
